Why Ledger.com/start matters

Ledger® uses Ledger.com/start as the official gateway for downloading Ledger® Live — the desktop and mobile app that manages your hardware wallet. Ledger® Live (Desktop & App) lets you install coin apps on your device, add and manage accounts, send/receive crypto, and apply firmware updates. Always use the official start page to avoid phishing.

Download & initial setup (Ledger Live Download)

  1. Open Ledger.com/start and select your model and platform (Windows/macOS/Linux or iOS/Android).
  2. Download Ledger Live Desktop or install the Ledger Live App. Run the installer and open the app.
  3. Choose "Get started" → "Set up as new device" or "Restore device" if you already have a recovery phrase. Create a PIN and follow firmware instructions when prompted.

Ledger Live login & common fails

Ledger® Live doesn't use a username/password hosted by Ledger® — it pairs with your physical device and the PIN. If you see "Ledger Live login not working" or "Can't verify Ledger Wallet", try these steps:

  • Unlock your Ledger® device with the PIN before using Ledger® Live.
  • Update Ledger® Live and device firmware (Manager → Firmware).
  • Use a good USB cable, avoid hubs, and try different ports. For BLE devices, toggle Bluetooth and permission settings.

Troubleshooting: Error Connecting Ledger Account & App not working

“Error connecting Ledger account” often stems from outdated apps, missing device permissions, or incompatible firmware. Reinstall the affected coin app in Manager, restart Ledger® Live, and collect logs (Help → Troubleshooting) if you contact support. For mobile issues, ensure app permissions, battery optimization exceptions, and Bluetooth visibility are configured correctly.

Unable to Ledger Trezor & migration notes

If you’re migrating from a Trezor device, you may restore your seed on Ledger® only when the seed standard matches and assets are compatible. Do not share your recovery phrase — consider performing small test transfers after restoring to verify balances and addresses.

Ledger Account Recovery & 2FA reset

Ledger® account recovery relies entirely on your recovery phrase (seed). Ledger® cannot recover or reset your seed. There is no platform-level 2FA for device unlock—your PIN and recovery phrase are the security roots. If a third-party service linked to your Ledger® uses 2FA, follow that service's reset process.
